Summer Cruise 2001 - France
A rowing tour of the Loing, Briare, and Latéral á la Loire Canals in France was organised by the Dutch Club Het Zeilend Scheehout (The Sailing Tholepin) from 24th July to 1st August 2001. Their 13 wooden skiffs and 53 crew were joined by 8 skiffs and 20 crew from the Thames Traditional Boat Society. A highlight was the crossing of the 662m long Pont-Canal aqueduct at Briare by all 21 skiffs rowing line-astern.
